Description
This is the season for celebrations . . . weddings, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, as well as just the small things that deserve to be celebrated. Now that the weather has turned warmer, we have the opportunity to open the doors and extend the party to the outdoors. We bring the good dishes outside and create a tablescape that is worthy of the finest dinner party.
In this issue, we showcase residences across the South that are fresh, functional, and most of all, inviting. In Atlanta, Spitzmiller & Norris reimagined a historic home to make it more livable for the current owners. In Houston, Sandy Lucas of Lucas/Eilers Design Associates infused a house with a dramatic apricot color that perfectly suits the homeowners. Amy Morris leaned into the relaxed vibe of Hilton Head to deliver a perfect entertaining home. William T. Baker and Susan Bozeman team up to design a Southern getaway with New England style.
In Antiques Obsession we highlight mantel clocks, and Destinations features the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our Designer Q&A catches up with Brooke & Steve Giannetti and talks with them about their recent move from Ojai to Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, and the opening of their new store, Patina Meadow. As the days grow longer, I hope you will open your home and outdoor living areas and enjoy the unique fellowship that occurs at the table.
